Their Names Were Jenny and Bao Lam & They Were Executed During a Home Invasion

July 22, 2020

*Editorial Correction* Khari Kendrick was supposed to be sentenced to 30 years in prison for a string of 20 burglaries, not 30. We apologize for that typo.

Jenny and Bao Lam, both 61, were living the American dream. They immigrated to the United States with nothing, worked hard, sacrificed, and ended up becoming a Subway franchisee with six restaurants in the Houston area. They had two children, a son and a daughter, and both eventually went on to attend affluent colleges. The son became a captain in the United States Air Force.

On January 11, 2018, Thursday night, Jenny and Bao Lam returned to their Northgate Country Club gated community home and were ambushed as they parked their car into the garage by Erick Alfredo Peralta, 20, half-brothers Aakeil Ricardo Kendrick, 21, and Khari Ty Kendrick, 23.

Houston police believed and later proven right—the couple was targeted because they were Asian. African-American youths have been targeting the Asian community for several years from Los Angeles, Houston to New York and across the Atlantic to London and Paris.

“Everything was disturbed,” stated Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez to KTRK. “Furniture was overturned, drawers were opened.” The house was completely ransacked. Firearms, jewels, even the coffee mugs, and coasters were stolen as well as Jenny’s Porsche Panamera.

Jenny and Bao were tied up and beaten for information. Once the murderers obtained the safe combination from the couple; they were both shot in the head, execution-style.

Richard Lam, the son, became concerned for his parents’ safety after repeated attempts to contact them over the weekend failed. He contacted local authorities for a welfare check and that eventually led to the discovery of what happened.

Jenny’s Porsche was eventually found abandoned off some barren parking area the following day. The three perpetrators used the car to haul the couple’s belongings back-and-forth to their apartment complex. CCTV footage from the gated community eventually led to the identification of three suspects. Within 24 hours, Harris County deputies arrested all three murderers.

It turns out, one of the perpetrators, Khari Kendrick was a 6’6 all-star basketball player at Cypress Creek High School and was supposed to be sentenced to 30 years in prison for a string of 20 burglaries completely separate from the Lam murders in the Houston area, but he was freed after serving only three years by the state parole commission in an attempt to help reform African-American youths, the bail system in Harris County as a then-demand by Black Lives Matter-backed coalitions, including Right2Justice.

  1. That is so wrong. Asian can never get any justice. I don’t care how long ago it was. Justice need to be served. An eye for an eye. Justice for Asians, ASIAN LIVES MATTERS!!!!

  2. And why do asians still support BLM? BLM does not care for asians a bit. They don’t even care for light skin blacks since those are not black enough and asians are supposed to matter?

  3. This moved me to tears. Good people executed for nothing. Even after the murderers took their money and material possessions, they took the Lam’s lives. Why? I pray for the Lam family and I pray for justice. So very sorry.

  4. If this is my family I will make sure these animal’s becomes my personal projects. And i will make sure they are die very painful and disappear one by one.

  5. Let’s blame the system and slavery for all this…and why are there more blacks in prison? Lmafao….to me blm is a bs….go trump!

  6. As a Black Man Married to an Amazing Asian Wife. I am so angered by people targeting Asians or any Minority for that matter just because they are successful and worked hard to become successful and you chose to live off of the Liberal free Welfare handouts.
Many Whites look down at Asians as well and are envy of their Success in America.
I love my in-laws with a passion and they love me. If this happened to them there would be a price to pay. I am so angry, so sad and depressed over this.
The BLM Organization doesn’t care about any of us. They aren’t even Black Owned. This is a tragedy to the Asian Community and disgrace to America.

    1. Respect. It’s unfortunate that so much of the world is focused on the differences rather than the similarities between different races of the world.

      1. what’s wrong with black man marrying an Asian?
I’ve seen blacks cares more than Asian husbands, at least they don’t beat the shit out of you, but you probably know that.

        1. LMAO. So true! I’m an Asian male with no hate. Always gonna be haters out there. You be you and don’t mind the detractors if they’re off base.

  7. My is Asian and we love our mixed culture. Together we try to educate people into understanding that love is the bridge that brings both cultures together and the glue that binds them.

  8. You can’t give anything nice to these people. One of killers got a second chance in life and he f’ed that up.

  9. The three were charged in January 2018 and there had not been any follow-up. Did the trial ever happen? Were they somehow freed again? No one cares because victims were Asian.

  10. Even gated communities are not safe!! Cameras are the only way.

The only option is to arm yourselves constantly and do a recon (of your own house!) before you settle in. Sad, but this is what happens when you have murderous animals living in the same neighbourhoods as you.

    1. Asian Americans need to be more self aware and paranoid of their surroundings wherever they are or go, whether walking to and from their car or driving anywhere. Be on the lookout for people following. The best thing to do is always slowly look left and right every time you leave any building/office as if you’re paranoid. That sends a message you’re not a victim and are aware of who may be following you. That forces potential assailant to look elsewhere because they are looking for preoccupied people on the phone and not alert and focused people who can identify them later on. Always be proactive. Have keys ready on hand to unlock car doors or house. Look for potentially suspicious situations before entering or leaving car or house. Always have the mindset that someone can be following me so I need to ensure my safety by being aware of my surroundings at ALL TIMES. It may sound or be exhausting initially but after awhile it becomes second nature.

  11. Okay…How the help does racism among Asians has anything to do with this? They’re looking for rich, lonely, weak, old people to rob. They killed the victims because they want to hide the evidence, just like typical criminals!!! ….(of armed robbery?)….😂😂

  12. That murderer was supposed to get 30 years!!! NOT 3 years!!! Someone needs to start a petition. Who cares if he supports BLM? That has nothing to do with these innocent Asians and cannot justify their disgusting behaviors. Murderers shouldn’t get a 2nd chance to murder!!!!!
