Hong Kong Model Body Parts Discovered, Ex-Husband and Relatives Charged

HONG KONG—Three people have been charged over the gruesome murder of Hong Kong model Abby Choi as authorities reveal they found more body parts after searching a house and a cemetery on Sunday.

Choi’s ex-husband Alex Kwong, 28, his brother Anthony, 31, and their father, Kwong Kau, 65, are charged with her murder. Alex Kwong’s 63-year-old mother, Jenny Li, is charged with obstruction of justice, reports The Guardian.

All four family members were denied bail by the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Investigators identified a skull, several ribs and hair, believed to be Choi’s remains, in a large stainless steel soup pot, police said. The 28-year-old’s torso and hands still remain missing as of Sunday.

Police began their investigation on Wednesday after Choi was reported missing. Authorities discovered her body parts—including her skull—in a house in the city’s Tai Po district two days later. A meat slicer, an electric saw, and some clothing were also found at the home as well.

Investigators believe Choi was attacked inside a van driven by her ex-brother-in-law, whom she hired as her driver.

Choi, the mother of two young children, was a well-known model and social influencer with more than 100,000 followers on Instagram. Authorities believe Choi had an ongoing financial dispute over tens of millions of Hong Kong dollars with Kwong and his family.

Choi’s ex-husband Alex Kwong was arrested at a Hong Kong pier on Saturday while attempting to flee the city with a speedboat. Police apprehended Kwong carrying HK$500,000 and about $4 million worth of luxury watches.
