Asian Woman Attacked & Robbed in SF….Again, Again

March 22, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO, California—Dion Lim of ABC 7 interviewed an Asian woman named Clarisse today, who was walking home from church with a friend Sunday afternoon, March 21, when she was viciously attacked at Polk and Bush Streets.

Three suspects approached from behind and one grabbed Clarisse’s handbag. She didn’t let go and one suspect ended up punching her in the face at least three times, according to Dion Lim.

At one point, Clarisse struggles and hangs on to the getaway car as it’s driving away and she eventually fell into the street where bystanders help her.

Clarisse is not in much pain and her family didn’t want her to speak out but she wanted to share her story so people would be aware of what happens in San Francisco, reported Dion Lim.

She has a message to the young men who beat and robbed her: “I forgive you and I want you to really hope and pray you get what you need out of life but not in a way that’s criminal.”

She credits her strong faith in God and her amazing friends and community for getting her through this. While she is Asian she isn’t sure this is hate-motivated…but definitely finds it ironic that she was attacked the same day we saw enormous rallies against Asian hate across the country and here in the Bay Area, according to Dion Lim.
