“It was a street fight and it escalated very quickly. And we see this car run into the store and people reaction was so shock, people were so panic,” said Hailing Chen of Flushing.

Video footage shows four men brawling on Kissena Blvd moments before the car crash. Witnesses said the two parties were fighting over a parking spot. Police later identified the driver as 24-year-old Jie Zou and his passenger, Johnathan Zhang.

Zou was the one initially swinging the baseball bat before it was taken from him during the brawl. Both men have been charged with assault while Zou was additionally charged with reckless endangerment. All four men involved were arrested.

“It’s unbelievable, how a car can go that way,” Lo said.

“Very sad,” Lo told the New York Daily News. “We put a lot (of money) in for the renovation and then…(he) almost destroyed it all…It’s lucky it’s the first day, not too many know we are open. And at the time, nobody in here. Nobody hurt, nobody died.”
