Elderly Asian Couple Injured During Bel-Air Home Invasion

April 30, 2023

LOS ANGELES, CA—One of the most luxurious pockets of Southern California became the scene of terror for an elderly Asian couple who were tied up, assaulted, and robbed during a home invasion that lasted four hours.

The elderly Asian man in his 70s and his wife in her 60s were rushed to a hospital with injuries suffered during the Bel-Air home invasion, authorities said.

Police officers were dispatched at 12:56 am Saturday to an initial report of a burglary in the 1300 block of Casiano Road.

Authorities say three masked men entered the home through an unlocked sliding door while the wife was watching television and terrorized the couple for four hours, according to KTLA.

The description of the suspects are not being released. The couple told the suspects they did not have any valuables in the home. The husband was struck in the face several times and the suspects later managed to drag a safe out of the home.

The suspects also dismantled a security system and doused the entire home with bleach.

KTLA interviewed a neighbor, Amy Rahbar, who said the couple’s son told her the burglars broke into his parents’ home around 8 p.m. Friday night.

“His mom was watching TV and she had the door cracked open,” she said. “They put a bag over her head and they went in for four hours and they bleached everything for fingerprints. They took off with the safe from the house. All internet was stripped down and everything was bleached.”

“They’re lovely neighbors and it’s unfortunate to hear what’s going on,” Rahbar said. “I did meet their son this morning and he was very concerned and upset.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the LAPD at 1-877-527-3247.
