FOREST HILLS, Queens—A Chinese food delivery worker was shot and killed while riding on a scooter in Queens Saturday night.

The shooting happened just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday on 108th Street and 67th Drive in Forest Hills, reports ABC7 New York.

45-year-old Zhiwen Yan was shot in the chest while on his way to a delivery. He worked at a nearby Chinese restaurant called “The Great Wall.”

EMS rushed Yan to Elmhurst Hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.

Yan is a father of three, including a two-year-old.

“Please help this family raise college funds as they are grieving with his loss and income for his family. Any amount can help. He has no life insurance or savings and lived paycheck to paycheck,” an organizer for Forest Hills stated through a GoFundMe page.

It’s currently unknown if Yan was specifically targeted for being Asian. Police said the shooter fired several times then got in a gray or tan sedan and fled eastbound on 67 Drive, according to ABC7.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is now underway.
