Asian Woman Punched in the Face in Los Angeles

September 23, 2021

LOS ANGELES, California—A 30-year-old Asian woman visiting from Canada was assaulted on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, by a large Caucasian male named Jason Raich, according to Jackfroot.

The incident started when the victim, Jennifer Chen, was attempting to park her car around 4:25 p.m. at the Balcony on Beverwil Dr. The assailant was behind her honking his horn because Chen was taking too long to park.

Chen eventually parked her car and was waiting for her friend to pick up her son from school when Raich allegedly came up to her car, said a racial slur, and punched her as she was sitting in her car.

Apparently, Raich was with two minor children and they also attend the same school as Chen’s friend’s son.

After the assault, Chen followed Raich and recorded him. Throughout the clip, he denied assaulting Chen and claimed she was harassing him. However, Chen was able to obtain surveillance footage of the incident, which shows a man approaching her car and extending his hand through the window.

The attack was reported to the West Los Angeles Police Department. If you have any information pertaining to this incident, you’re asked to contact the Law Offices of Edward Y. Lee (213) 603-9658
