37-year-old Catholic priest Rev Travis Clark was caught in the act on Wednesday, September 30 by a passerby who noticed the lights inside Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Louisiana were still on after hours.
The witness looked inside the church and saw Clark having sex with two women, later identified as 41-year-old adult film actress Mindy Dixon and 23-year-old Melissa Cheng, according to The Daily Mail. Both women were dressed in corsets and wore high-heeled boots, the witness stated.
The witness immediately called the police. The Daily Mail reported stage lighting, multiple sex toys, and a cellphone on a tripod were also on site. Both women reportedly told officers who arrived on the scene that they were filming “roleplay” with Clark.
All three were arrested on obscenity charges because they were in view of the public.
Dixon reportedly posted about the upcoming sex act on social media a day before being arrested. She stated she was traveling to the New Orleans area to “defile a house of God,” with another dominatrix.
Rev Clark, who was ordained in 2013, was suspended from the archdiocese following the arrest. Apparently, having consensual sex with two legally-aged women gets you suspended, but sexually assaulting altar boys gets you transferred to another church.
After the incident, the archbishop of the New Orleans archdiocese, Gregory Aymond, visited the church and performed a ritual to restore the sanctity of the altar, which is supposedly the most sacred of church spaces.
Rev Clark was released from jail on a $25,000 bond. Cheng and Dixon posted bonds of $7,500. All three face a maximum six months to three years in prison if convicted of obscenity.
